Tamworth entering lock down today

THE Premier has said the Tamworth local government area will go into lock down today at 5pm for seven days, following a young woman from Newcastle who travelled to the area.

The young woman travelled to Tamworth on the evening of August 4 and departed back to Newcastle on August 5, which is why there are no venues of concern in Tamworth after August 5. (Please note: there was a date error initially, the dates were not in July, they were August).

While there have been no confirmed cases in Tamworth, there are a number of exposure sites and anyone who visited these sites are encouraged to isolate immediately for 14 days and get tested.

If you have visited the following venues in Tamworth you are considered a close contact, you need to immediately isolate for 14 days and be tested:

• Inland Cafe, August 5, 9:15am – 10am;
• Tutor Hotel, August 5, 11am – 11:40am;

If you visited the following venues in Tamworth you are considered a casual contact, you need to isolate immediately, be tested and not come out of isolation until you have returned a negative test:

• Gloria Jeans Coffee, August 5, 9:15am – 9:20am;
• Super Vape Store, August 5, 10:55am – 11:05am;
• Ampol Roadhouse, August 5, 12:25pm – 12:30pm.
