THE cloud cover will continue to break up today with a shower or two throughout today and tomorrow.
SHOWERS persisted across the region yesterday, with the Bureau of Meteorology recording the following measurements during the past 24 hours:

- Bunnan: 0
- Cassilis: 0
- Glenbawn: 1.6
- Kars Springs: 1.4
- Merriwa: 1
- Moonan: 2.8
- Murrurundi: 9
- Parkville: 1.6
- Scone:3
- Upper Rouchel: 4.8
- Wingen: 3
THE welcome rain has continued to fall across the district, hopefully laying the groundwork for a good season ahead.
THE region enjoyed more rain in the past 24 hours, with the following totals recorded by the Bureau of Meteorology:

- Ellerston 6.8
- Glenbawn Dam 0.6
- Kars Springs 7
- Merriwa 2

AFTER building up all day, there was some welcome rain overnight throughout the Upper Hunter area.
The Bureau of Meteorology recorded the following rain totals across the Upper Hunter Shire:
- Aberdeen: 12mm
- Blandford: 9.2mm
- Bunnan: 22mm
- Cassilis: 4mm
- Ellerston: 14mm
- Glenbawn: 17mm
- Kars Springs: 23mm
- Merriwa: 8mm
- Murrurundi: 6mm
- Parkville: 13mm
- Rouchel: 18mm
- Scone: 16mm
- Wingen: 16mm
HEAVY rainfall is forecasted today and tomorrow, with possible thunderstorms that may bring up to 50 millimetres of rain tomorrow evening.
THE Upper Hunter is expected to experience some serious thunderstorm activity this week, with storms predicted right through until Friday.
SHOWERS are expected to continue in the Upper Hunter this week, as the low system continues to move down along the east coast.
