Merriwa Wellbeing Superspreaders: “The Doer”
LEANNE ‘The Doer’ Hunt is a no fuss, no fanfare, get the job done kind of woman.
She is also the sixth person to join the Merriwa Wellbeing Superspreaders team for the Where There’s A Will (WTAW) Foundation.
Leanne is the first smiling face you see when you walk in the door at St Joseph’s, where she works in admin.
As the ultimate ‘doer,’ she’s also heavily involved in the St Joseph’s P&F.
Her daughter Annabelle is a St Joseph’s Merriwa student and her sons Thomas and Aidan attend St Joseph’s in Aberdeen.
You’ll also find Leanne rolling up her sleeves and getting involved at Merriwa Junior Rugby League, Touch Footy and Little Athletics.
As a self confessed ‘crafter’ Leanne volunteers one day a month at the Merriwa Welcome Centre, where she sells some of her crochet and sewing handiwork.
On top of everything else, she also owns Welderup with her husband Justin. Both have family located throughout town.
“The doer” has found time extra time in her busy schedule to help WTAW infect Merriwa with positive wellbeing.
Along with nine other Merriwa Superspreaders, Leanne will soon be trained by a certified Wellbeing Coach for three months, identify her wellbeing goals and be given actions and skills to achieve them.
Leanne and the other Superspreaders will also recruit friends and family to join them for training in Mental Health First Aid, so they know the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and how to help those in need.
