Meet the by-election candidates at Scone
NEW South Wales Farmers is hosting a ‘meet the candidates’ forum to discuss key agricultural issues at the Scone RSL this Wednesday, May 12 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
NSW Farmers President James Jackson said the forum will provide an opportunity to delve into some of the key issues facing the electorate, where agriculture has a significant social and economic presence.
“The Upper Hunter is a diverse region where agriculture coexists with other economic engine industries, such as the energy sector,” Mr Jackson said.
“Land use will be one of the main issues heading into the by-election, with the co-existence of agriculture and energy generation and the protection of quality agricultural land front of mind,” he said.
“Roads and infrastructure, education, and telecommunications will all be important issues for voters ahead of polling day,” he said
Nine of the fourteen thirteen candidates have accepted the forum invitation. To register for the forum, click here.
