PREMIER Gladys Berejiklian has announced more access to the COVID-19 vaccine across five mass vaccination sites, 100 other health sites across and general practitioners in New South Wales.

  • People aged 40 to 49 years of age will be able to register to have the Pfizer vaccine, from 5pm today, via the Service NSW website.
  • People who are 50 years of age and older will be able to be vaccinated via their general practitioner, beginning next week.

The Premier said there are more than 6 million adults in New South Wales and approximately 700,000 vaccines have been adminsitered to date.

The Chief Medical Officer Kerry Chant, said she had been given the Astra-Zenica vaccine and so too the Premier and the Minister for Health.

Dr Chant, said the risk-benefit of having a vaccine was much lower than contracting COVID-19, however encouraged people to discuss the risk-benefit with their general practitioner.
