Fire crews arriving at properties near containment lines

RESIDENTS of Segenhoe are breathing a small sigh of relief as fire crews from the property protection unit arrive at all properties near the containment lines, ready to protect their homes.

The fire front can be seen from some homes at the containment lines, with aerial water bombing continuing on the mountain until nightfall.

Local fire fighters continue to work on containment lines, with support from crews drawn from Tamworth through to Newcastle. Aerial water bombing is also utilising local services with support from Richmond, where the planes are loading with water.

Individual crews are being assigned to homes near the containment line are watering their rooves and ready if the fire approaches.
