Wires Down Over Highway Near Scone

LIVE Traffic reported at 10:45am “wires down” over the New England Highway south of Scone, however an update at 11:59am states the hazard is actually between Muffett Street and Belmore Street at the northern end of Scone, just south of McDonalds. 

Traffic is affected in both directions and emergency services are on scene.

UPDATE – 11:40am:Police have advised the power lines were brought down by a passing motorist and the Highway is blocked in both directions. No one has been injured and Ausgrid have disconnected power and the Highway should be reopened soon.

UPDATE – 11:43am: Eye witnesses report traffic is now moving.

UPDATE – 11:45am: LiveTraffic have removed the traffic alert for the area and confirmed the Highway is now open in both directions.
