Westpac Attends Merriwa Accident

AT approximately 5pm today the Westpac Rescue Helicopter responded to a single vehicle accident on the Golden Highway near Merriwa.

A 20 year old male and his girlfriend, also in her 20s, were trapped in the vehicle, which had rolled after reportedly travelling at high speed.

Both patients were freed from the vehicle by the Volunteer Rescue Association and Fire and Rescue NSW and treated on scene by local ambulance and the Westpac Critical Care Medical Team.

The male patient had multiple and possible internal injuries and was flown to the John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.

The female patient was also in a stable condition and taken to hospital by road ambulance.
