Weather and flood warning

THE Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning across the Hunter as tropical moisture moves across the continent developing into a trough and bringing widespread heavy rains from the north-west.

The rain will remain quite steady throughout the day, with heaver rains increasing throughout the afternoon and into the early hours of tomorrow morning.

There are river system warnings in place for the Goulburn and Upper Hunter Rivers, with minor to moderate flooding expected.

Residents are urged to prepare their properties, take pumps out of the river and expect the rivers to be up tomorrow morning.
