Weather in the Week Ahead

TODAY will reach a maximum temperature of 17 in Scone and there is the possibility of showers in the afternoon.

In the higher country around Barrington Tops there is also the possibility of snow overnight, above 1000 metres.

With the current cold air mass there may be showers, possibly a thunderstorm as the upper atmosphere is unstable during the afternoon and the slight possibility of small hail.

It will remain quite windy today with south westerly winds of 40 km an hour, with winds easing tomorrow.

There is a ridge of high pressure building over the state, which will bring some cloud tomorrow.

The temperatures will gradually increase during the week, with clear skies predicted so it will remain chilly over night.
