VIDEO: View from the Hay Trucks
THE view from a truck in the hay convey as it drove through Scone and Murrurundi on Saturday was filmed by passenger Lint Gannon, with his mate Peter Craig at the wheel.
Watch videos below.
Lint did his apprenticeship at the local butchers in Scone and now lives on the Central Coast, but said he loved driving through his old stomping ground again and the hay run was one of the proudest moments of his life.
“It was Pete’s idea at first, he drove the truck and asked on Christmas if I’d like to accompany him if he did a hay run for his birthday,” said Mr Gannon.
“I was interested from the get go because his idea of a 30th birthday celebration for himself was so selfless and on top of that, we’d be traveling through the communities I spent time growing up in and the cherry on top was that we’d be a part of something that was so needed and that’s a great feeling,” he said.
“But all praise should go to Peter as he was the inspiration and he put in the hours driving. He’s one of the best blokes I know. I’m glad I came along,” he said.
“Seeing the community love and support each other, from truck driver to everyone cheering the convoy on. Every smiling face, flag waving and tear wiping Australian made those two days the proudest moment of our lives,” said Lint Gannon.
Lint said he thinks there may be an f-bombs in the video, but we think people will enjoy watching the videos anyway and we updated him on the bypass:
