Update: Accident Near Wingen

POLICE have confirmed one person was injured in a four vehicle accident this morning on the New England Highway, approximately five kilometres north of Wingen.

The accident occurred at approximately 7am.

A patient was treated on scene by NSW Ambulance, before being flown by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter to the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, in a stable condition.

Nobody else was injured and police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
