Toddler stable after falling into a fire near Merriwa

AT approximately 8:15 last night the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to care for an 18 month old girl who sustained burns to her hands when she accidentally fell into an open fire at Merriwa.

The toddler was treated on scene by NSW ambulance paramedics before being taken to Merriwa Hospital to rendezvous with the critical care medical team on board the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and then taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

The young child is reportedly in a stable condition.
