Scone Railway Station

The Scone Railway Station was opened on April 17, 1871 and is the farthest station on the Sydney Trains network. The station is not staffed; the nearest partially staffed station is Muswellbrook Railway Station.

  • TICKETS: There are no ticket facilities at the Scone Railway Station.
    • For Sydney Trains services, you need an OPAL card. OPAL cards for adults and children can be purchased at Pharmasave Scone Chemist or Scone BP. OPAL cards for seniors, pensioners or war widows need to be ordered online, over the phone or at the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre. Not using an OPAL card may result in a fine for fare evasion.
    • TrainLink tickets, previously known as CountryLink, can be purchased online at http://www.nswtrainlink.info/, over the phone on 13 22 32, or from the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre.
  • BUS INTERCHANGE: The railway station car park is also used as a bus interchange. During track work, bus services replace train services and people simply depart from the same location.
  • PARKING: The railway car park is unmetered and has no restricted parking times.
  • TAXIS: Taxis are not typically at the station. If you require a taxi you will need to phone ahead.
  • TOILETS: The station’s toilets are permanently closed. However, there are public toilets available in Elizabeth Park, adjacent to the railway station.
  • WHEELCHAIR ACCESS: The station has ramps, however the station is not staffed and it is recommended a friend or career provide assistance.
  • OTHER FACILITIES: For more details on access and station facilities visit the Sydney Trains website: http://www.sydneytrains.info/stations/station_details?stationId=339
