Scone Lost Dogs and Rescue
Scone Lost Dogs and Rescue is a local volunteer service which helps reunite lost dogs and cats with their owners. They are available after hours when the pound is closed, have a microchip scanner to help contact owners, a temporary holding facility until the pound reopens and help rehome animals when necessary.
Scone Lost Dogs and Rescue was established by Leah Marchant who has worked in animal welfare for most of her life and saw a need in Scone for lost animals to be cared for after hours, when the pound and other facilities were closed.
Leah has a dog run to hold animals for 24 to 72 hours until the owners can be located or the local pound reopens.
With the microchip scanner they can provide the microchip number to the Scanning Angels who have access to the correlating owner information.
Scone Lost Dogs and Rescue also work closely with Australian Country Poundies which specialise in rehoming animals from regional areas.
