Wellbeing Superspreader: “The Big Unit”
OF course Andrew “Gibbo” Giblin is “The Big Unit” and the seventh Wellbeing Superspreader to be unleashed in Scone on February 1.
Gibbo is a big man, not easily missed when he’s on site working for Mt Arthur or on duty with the NSW Fire and Rescue squad.
In case those commitments weren’t enough to keep him occupied, he’s also studying for his Open Cut Examiner ticket this year.
He’s comfortable chatting to anyone and as an extremely keen fisherman, Gibbo can be heard talking about the one/s that got away.
Gibbo will be trained by a certified Wellbeing Coach and asking his friends, family and work colleagues to monitor for symptoms such as greater happiness, improved physical health, better relationships less stress and improves coping within workplaces.
Andrew’s wife Sarah works at Local Land Services and he always supports her many sporting pursuits (hockey, basketball, triathlon and Pulse fitness) as well as his children Angus, Bill and Lucy at theirs (netball, rugby, rugby league, swimming, touch footy).
As the eldest of five boys, he knows all about wrangling people into action.
The ten hand-picked Wellbeing Superspreaders are all helping the Where There’s A Will (WTAW) Foundation spread positive wellbeing in Scone.
Locals can follow the Superspreader social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram to see regular updates showcasing steps Andrew and the other Superspreaders are taking.
The pilot project is funded by the Hunter New England Primary Health Network and if Scone proves successful, WTAW hopes the outbreak will spread to other towns across the Upper Hunter and beyond, with a goal of achieving widespread wellbeing and good mental health.
Stay tuned for tomorrows announcement on who “The Carer” is!
