Getting there
Scone is located on the New England Highway, three hours from Sydney, and can be accessed by car, train, bus or plane.
To reach Scone travelling from:
- Sydney: Follow the M1 freeway and take the Singleton exit onto the M15 Hunter Expressway, which is approximately 114 kilometres from the start of the M1 freeway. After the Hunter Expressway ends, continue on the New England Highway until you reach Scone.
- the North: Follow the New England Highway into Scone.
- West and Central NSW: Access the Golden Highway which leads from Dubbo to Merriwa, and follow the signs to Scone.
- the East Coast: Drive on the Pacific Highway until it meets the New England Highway at Hexham, or for a scenic journey travel over the Barrington Tops via Gloucester. Please be warned the road over the Barrington is narrow in places, may not be suitable for all cars, can be icy in winter and may be closed if there is snow.
