AT the September Council meeting Cr Sue Abbott asked a question about any conflict of interest with the airport sub-committee and proposed redevelopment of Scone airport,

I have read and listened to the “spin” being generated by the Upper hunter Shire Council in their endeavour to justify their decisions to spend $26million at the Scone Airport.

COUNCIL plans to spend $23 million upgrading the Scone Regional Airport to be compliant with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority regulations being introduced in August 2020 and to develop a Warbird Aviation Attraction.
NEXT month preliminary work on the Scone airport will begin and at $23.5 million will be the most expensive capital works program ever undertaken by the Upper Hunter Shire Council.
