Premier: Visiting On Mother’s Day
PREMIER Gladys Berejiklian flagged the national cabinet may ease more restrictions on Friday, but said it was unlikely New South Wales would implement them before mother’s day.
However, she stressed people would be able to visit their mother’s on Sunday, with two adults with children being able to visit people in their homes and mother’s could have multiple visits throughout the day.
“To all the mother’s out there, please know you’ll be able to accept those visitors, everyone will be careful and I think all of us will be able to enjoy mother’s day much more so than had it happened a month ago, but I just want to manage expectations and say even if national cabinet does suggest easing of restrictions, which New South Wales will consider very carefully they won’t be able to be made in time for mother’s day,” said Premier Berejiklian.
More than 2 million people have downloaded the Service NSW app for the latest information on covid-19 and the Premier also encouraged more people to download the COVIDSafe app to help with contact tracing and stopping the spread of the disease.
“It allows the federal government to immediately notify direct contacts of a known case and that contact tracing, that detective work, to narrowing those contacts down will be absolutely vital as we ease restrictions because it will be so important to contact contacts of someone who has the virus as soon as possible and that app is very useful for that,” said the Premier.
“Those decisions about easing restrictions will be made all the more easier if we know that a certain proportion of the public has downloaded the COVIDSafe app, so that’s extremely important,” said Gladys Berejiklian.
Health Update
