LEE Watts, Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre Manager said there were smiles all round at the annual Community Connecting Day yesterday.
More than 30 people popped by the Scone Seniors Centre for free pamper sessions and a bite to eat, with a range of local support services also offering visitors advice and information throughout the day.
“We had a number of people keen to enjoy the services offered by our pampering professional Laura, from Sophistacut Hair Salon, Rachel, from Rachel’s Hair & Beauty, Sherryn at Boutique Beauty by Sherryn and Karen, Mitch and Janelle from Kare’n for Feet Podiatry,” Ms Watts said.
“Community groups including Upper Hunter Homeless Service, Joblink Plus, Hunter New England Health Service, Scone Library, Upper Hunter Shire Youth Services and the Upper Hunter Mens Shed were on hand with support and information,” she said.
“There were lots of laughs, plenty of give aways and great food available. We look forward to organising this event again next year, reaching out to those doing it a little tough,” said Lee Watts.
