Outstanding HSC results
UPPER Hunter Year twelve students received outstanding Higher School Certificate (HSC) results this week, with eleven students receiving Band sixes and 14 students receiving Band fives.
Some noteworthy results from Scone Grammar School include Ruby Wong, who achieved an All Rounder , E3 in Extension 2 English and E4 or Band 6 for all of her other subjects, Jessika Pickett, who achieved four Band 6s and Hayley Cook, who achieved one Band 6.
Scone Grammar School Principal, Paul Smart is thrilled for the 2020 Year 12 cohort, who showed incredible resilience and perseverance throughout a year of change, which included virtual independent learning.
“It is a wonderful thing to see resilience in the face of change. Our 2020 Year 12 cohort of students have been motivating leaders for our students from Preschool right through to their Year 12 classmates and supportive to their own classmates,” said Mr Smart.
“Having worked through virtual learning and faced many disappointments throughout the year, in terms of events and sports being unable to take place in the way they had anticipated, these students have shown strong resilience.
“We’re also extremely pleased that our approach to teaching students how to learn through Grammar Minds has encouraged and stretched these students in their independent learning.
“Our well-established Microsoft Teams and OneNote digital learning platforms have also supported their learning, providing quick easy access to ongoing feedback from teachers and responses relating to learning queries.”
