JBS workers in Scone still stood down
ON Monday, local workers at the JBS abattoir in Scone were stood down and buyers did not purchase any cattle at the cattle sale on Tuesday, following a cyber attack on the company affecting global operations.
The hackers locked the JBS IT systems for quality assurance and demanded a ransom to unlock the systems.
Yesterday the USA chief executive, Andre Nogueira, said in a statement that the vast majority of beef, pork, poulrty and prepared food plants would be operational within a day, with some facilities coming back on line on Tuesday night.
However, the Scone facility remains closed and no advice has been provided to employees on when they may expect to return to work.
