Help hydrating local firies

Filed in Just In by October 25, 2023

THE community can drop-off sports drinks and water to the Green Seed Grocer, for delivery to firies.

Bec Kennedy, who owns the Green Seed Grocer, and Charlotte Boss from Dawson Real Estate, said they decided to cut through the usual red tape and deliver what is needed to local crews.

“It’s a bit of a reality check when a fire is on the fenceline and the fire season hasn’t even started,” said Ms Kennedy.

“Powerade, gatorade, sachets of gatorade to mix with water and slabs of water are all things that don’t go out of date,” she said.

“We’ve been dropping them off at the stations, and they can be on hand throughout the fire season,” she said.

“We’ve also done some cooking and have been dropping it out to the pilots and maintenance workers at the airport.

If you’d like to help the firies now and throughout the fire season, you can drop off the sports drinks and water to the Green Seed Grocer at 131 Kelly Street, Scone.
