First Community Event at New White Park Arena

CR LEE Watts said the first community event at the new White Park arena in Scone, Tom Curtain’s Katherine Outback Experience, was a great success.

“It was fantastic to see so many people go to the event on a school night and enjoy the show under the new covered arena,” said Cr Watts.

“While it was purpose built for horse events as the Horse Capital, we wanted it to be able to serve a range of people in the community for events and this is a great example,” she said.

“Local charity groups supported the event by cooking the BBQ and raised money for the Westpac helicopter,” she said.

“The timing of a show like this was also important with messages around mental health and support, during the drought,” Cr Lee Watts said.
