Covid update: Visitor restricitons
NEW South Wales has recorded 44 new Covid cases in Sydney over the last 24 hours, with Premier Gladys Berejiklian placing tighter restrictions on Greater Sydney to try and combat the fast spreading Delta variant.
More than 400 people have now been infected with the Delta variant as a result of the Sydney outbreak.
Regional residents are limited to five visitors per household at any one time, including children, with multiple daily visits allowed as long as the five guest limit it not breached.
Household members (those living in the home) are not counted as visitors and overnight stays are still permitted.
People who are aged over 70 or have a pre-existing medical condition are also advised to limit their number of visitors.
Face masks remain mandatory when using public transport, hire vehicles, taxis and rideshare services or when waiting for public transport at a bus stop, light rail stop, train station or ferry wharf.
You must also wear a mask when visiting indoor businesses, workplaces, places of worship, gyms and residential aged care facilities.
