Covid update: Monday

THERE were 40 new cases of covid identified in the Hunter New England health district and there are currently 1,590 active cases in the area. There are 22 people being cared for in hospital and 3 are in intensive care.

The state is currently at 93.14% first vaccination dose and 88.67% double vaccination rate. All nearby local government areas are now above the state vaccination rates.
