Covid restrictions eased today
TODAY New South Wales covid restrictions have eased with the most noticeable change being mask free in most places, however masks are still encouraged in areas where you cant socially distance, QR codes and vaccine certificates are still required in some situations.
The new rules:
Masks and QR codes:
- Masks only required on public transport, planes, at airports and for front-of-house hospitality staff who are not fully vaccinated.
- No longer required in outdoor settings.
- Check-ins only required for hospitals, aged and disability care, gyms, places of worship, funerals or memorial services, personal services, pubs, small bars and registered clubs and indoor music festivals with more than 1,000 people.
Visiting family and friends:
- No limit on visitors to your home.
- No limit for outdoor gatherings.
- All visitors to aged care facilities and disability homes to comply with the facility’s policies.
Travel and transport:
- Travel between greater Sydney and regional NSW permitted for all.
- Carpooling permitted for all.
- Caravan parks and camping grounds remain open – including for people who are not fully vaccinated.
International travel:
- International travellers who are fully vaccinated must self-isolated for 72 hours after arriving in NSW and until they receive a negative test result.
- International travellers who are not fully vaccinated will need to hotel quarantine for 14 days.
