Weather – the week ahead

Filed in Just In by December 13, 2021

THE Bureau of Meteorology is predicting a mostly dry week with warm temperatures, however with the weather warming there is a chance of severe thunderstorms on Thursday and Sunday.

Today Scone is expected to reach a top temperature of 27 degrees, steadily warming throughout the week and reaching temperatures of 34 on the weekend.

There are two low pressure troughs, the first to come through mid-week and at the end of the week, driving the higher temperatures.

There is still plenty of humidity in the air and water still around, which will serve as the perfect fuel for thunderstorms.

And the stagnant water is also the perfect breeding ground for mosquitos, so make sure you are well stocked with mozzie repellent.

Expected temperatures this week in Scone:

  • Monday: 11 – 27
  • Tuesday: 12 -29
  • Wednesday: 13 -32
  • Thursday: 17 – 29
  • Friday: 16 – 29
  • Saturday: 16 -34
  • Sunday: 23 -34
