Covid case in Dungog
HUNTER New England Health have confirmed one of the 15 new cases of covid-19 in the area is in the Dungog local government area.
The case is linked to another known case, there are no known venues of concern associated with the case at this stage and it is still being investigated if the person who is listed as infectious in the community – was in the Dungog community during that time.
Of the new cases:
- 1 is from Newcastle and was isolating for the full infectious period;
- 10 are from Port Stephens;
- 1 is from Dungog local government area, and
- 2 are in Maitland.
Ten cases are linked to known exposures or family clusters and five are still under investigation.
Three cases are linked to a Motto Farm Motel cluster, with five secondary cases in the Hunter community.
The total number of covid cases in the Hunter New England area since August 5 is now 218.
