Covid-19: Calm and responsible in the regions
DEPUTY Premier, John Barilaro, has said the message for regional New South Wales is “one of calmness”
“There is no doubt that there is anxiety in the regions as people flock to the regions for their Christmas break and we encourage that,” said Mr Barilaro.
“The regions are looking forward to Christmas, looking forward to being hospitable and welcoming people to the regions, especially post the year that we’ve had and the bushfires last year, but at the same time we want people to take a level of responsibility,” he said.
“…we already have in place some restrictions that minimise the risk to regional New South Wales and that is of course if you are from the Northern Beaches you can not travel to the regions.
“My message for those that are living in the outer metro regions of Sydney, be mature, be understanding that you could cause some level of risk and anxiety in the regions so if you’ve got any symptoms please get tested, change your travel plans, maybe not visit regional New South Wales right now until we get on top of this issue,” he said.
“Those that are already in regional and rural New South Wales and there would be many from the northern beaches that are already in the regions, now we’re asking you to self-isolate, again take responsibility,” John Barilaro said.
