Community Set to Celebrate Christmas
THE annual Christmas in the Park will be held tonight with carnival rides, live music, market stalls, ham raffles, air brush tattoos, face painting, $1000 worth of Christmas goods in a raffle, Sparkles the Clown and a visit from Santa himself.
Lee Watts, manager of the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre said it had been a tough year for many families and tonight was the chance to enjoy a night out with the family and celebrate Christmas as a community.
“We did have our regular fireworks display planned, but we have had to change those plans this year due to the extremely dry conditions, hopefully next year we will have drought breaking rain and the fireworks will be back,” said Mrs Watts.
“While they are definitely a highlight, the rest of the show will go on with plenty of Christmas cheer,” she said.
“There are plenty of fun things for the kids to do, while grown up can enjoy the market stalls, lots of food, or just sitting down and catching up with friends,
“Don’t forget to take a ticket in the raffles, they are great this year and you could win a garden trolley with a $1,000 worth of toys donated by Scone Sports Store or a trolley of Christmas Cheer thanks to BWS, Celarbrations and Ice Box Liquor,” she said.
“So bring a blanket or chair and enjoy dinner out, while the kids play,” Lee Watts said.
