Eight-hundred competitors will take to the arena with prize money available for first, second, third, fourth and fifth place in each category.
Denny Farley, President of the Cassilis Campdraft Committee said the committee was overwhelmed with entries, with competitors and spectators travelling far and wide to attend the event.
“There’s people from Tamworth, Maitland, Narrabri and Orange coming down for the weekend,” Mr Farley said.
“Everyone’s just pumped to be back campdrafting. We had 1200 entries and had to turn down people to get to 800 because of daylight and cattle provided,” he said.
“There were at least eight different local cattle producers who donated cattle. If it wasn’t for them it wouldn’t be possible, they’re very generous,” he said.
“It’s a shame people will miss out but we had to stick to what we can fit in.”
Mr Farley said everyone is welcome to attend the free event which will include free camping, a public bar and live music on Saturday night by Chloe and James.
“The biggest thing will be on Saturday afternoon, we’re going to have an under eight’s cut out event. There’s about 20 to 30 kids already lined up for that,” Mr Farley said.
“The bowling club has organised all of the catering, with meals and a band playing on Saturday night and there will also be a fire,” he said.
“Everyone can camp in their trucks, campers, vans. The more the merrier,” he said.
