Gladys Berejiklian steps down as Premier

GLADYS Berejiklian has stepped down from the office of Premier, in response to the Independent Commission Against Corruption confirming they will be focusing an investigation on the Premier for improper dealings.

Ms Berejiklian said she received the advice yesterday afternoon that the investigation into her awarding $5.5million Member for Wagga Wagga Daryl Maguire, who she was secretly in a relationship with. 

“I state categorically I have always acted with the highest level of integrity,” she said.

“It pains me to announce I have no option but to resign from the office of Premier,” said Gladys Berejiklian.

There will be a by-election in her seat.
