AQUIS thoroughbred farm at Murrurundi announced on Monday it will be relocating their operations to Gooree Park in Mudgee.

There are approximately 30 staff employed at the local stud, who were told they will be made redundant ahead of the breeding season.

In a media statement on breednet.com.au Aquis’ chef operating officer Tony Williams said they were thrilled to be making the move to Gooree, “when the opportunity presented itself, we all felt it was the right move.”

Andrew Baddock, Gooree Park Stud Manager said, “In a very short period of time, Aquis have made great inroads into the thoroughbred breeding and racing industry, we are confident that this is the right step in the next phase of our re-introduction as a commercial entity within the industry.”

Aquis plans to relocate their stallions, broadmares and young stock in time for the upcoming breeding season.

Aquis has two other farms in Seymour, Victoria and Canungra, Queensland. Their Murrurundi operation was on Emirates Park owned property.

Aquis was unavailable for further comment.
