Local cases include HammondCare staff member
TODAY four new cases of covid have been identified in the Upper Hunter local government area.
HammondCare has confirmed one of their staff at Strathearn House tested positive to covid yesterday, however they are still determining if they had been into the aged care facility during their infectious period.
The cottage where the staff member worked is in lockdown and all staff are in full PPE to minimise infection risk.
All residents and staff at the facility are fully vaccinated and as a precaution all residents and staff are being tested.
There were a total of 633 cases confirmed in the Hunter New England Health area, bringing the total active cases to 1,452.
