Campbell: @ wrong!

THE Office of Local Government stipulates no candidates in an election can use Council resources for their election campaign, however Ron Campbell was using his Councillor email address for his campaign and registered it as his contact for the NSW Electoral Commission. 

The Office of Local Government recommended, “anyone with evidence of breaches of the code of conduct should report it to the council’s general manager in the first instance.”

General Manager, Greg McDonald has advised, they are aware and Ron Campbell is taking steps to change the address. 

However, Ron Campbell, did get the email address wrong on another level, as Mr McDonald explained, “if you look closely it was entered incorrectly so no Council resource is actually being used, however as mentioned above we have made representations to the electoral commission to progress his paperwork to remove any appearance of use of Council resources.”
