Weather: The week ahead

Filed in Just In by October 18, 2021

THE Bureau of Meteorology has predicted more showers and the possibility of thunderstorms throughout this week.

Tomorrow, as a southerly change moves up the coast into a trough developing offshore, there will be fresh easterly winds bringing more cloud cover, scattered showers and thunderstorms this week.

Temperatures will drop as the front begins moving through tomorrow, but temperatures will still be relatively warm around 23 and 24 degrees.

Some areas will have moderate rainfall, while other areas may not get much.

Throughout the week the weather will warm, reaching 30 degrees by Friday and Saturday.

The soil mositure is average to above average throughout most of the Upper Hunter area.

The Bureau has made their soil moisture data public and people can type in their postcode to see the soil moisture measurements for root zones, upper soil, lower soil and deep soil layers.

By selecting “relative” on the map, information on how current soil moisture levels compare to previous years can be viewed.

Soil moisture throughout the Upper Hunter area at all levels currently range between average and the highest levels and a relatively wet summer is predicted.
