Covid: Lower cases today

THERE were 47 cases of covid reported in the past 24 hours in the Hunter New England Health district, with no new cases identified in the Upper Hunter, Muswellbrook or Singleton Shires.

Statewide the numbers are also down, with 360 cases identified.

Vaccination: More than 90.4 percent of people aged 16 and older in the state have received their first dose of the vaccine, and 74 percent are now fully vaccinated. Additional vaccine appointments are available through NSW Health in Muswellbrook.

Exception for the ACT: An exemption was passed yesterday under the health orders, allowing residents of New South Wales to enter the Australian Capital Territory for work or medical care. NSW residents who have been to the ACT for work, to receive medical care, or accompany someone receiving medical treatment do not have to complete a declaration or adhere to stay at home rules when then return to NSW. However, everyone else entering NSW after being in the ACT do need to complete a declaration and adhere to stay at home rules.
