Covid Update: 1,036 new cases and most vaccinations to date
MORE than 156,165 people were vaccinated yesterday in New South Wales, the largest number of vaccines in one day to date.
There were 1036 cases of covid-19 identified in the past 24 hours and two people have died, a woman in her 70s and a woman in her 80s.
- 778 people are hospitalised
- 125 are in intensive care
- 52 people are being ventilated – including people in their 20s and 30s
- 110 people in intensive care are unvaccinated
- 14 had received one dose of the vaccine and
- 1 health care worker who had received both doses is in ICU.
Regional case numbers
There are now 495 active cases of covid-19 in western NSW.
In the past 24 hours new cases include:
- 34 – Dubbo
- 6 – Burke
- 6 – Broken Hill
- 4 – Wilcannia (now 58 in total)
- 1 – Bathurst
- 1 – Mudgee
The virus has also been detected in the sewerage at Brewarrina, Moree, Merimbula, Baradine and Bonny Hills.
