Cassilis comes together for ANZAC Day
A LARGE crowd made up of 100 people gathered at Branksome and Ancrum Streets in Cassilis and marched to the Cassilis War Memorial Park Gate to commemorate ANZAC Day today.
The March was followed by a wreath-laying ceremony and refreshments at the Cassilis Bowling Club, where more than 80 people enjoyed a free sausage sizzle and live music from John O’Nichols.
Jan Wilton, President of Cassilis bowling club said it was a great day enjoyed by all.
ANZAC Service organiser Hilary Parker gave special thanks to Amy Nicholls, Andrew Warner, Sullgreaves Nev, Anastasia Webster-Hawes, Anne-Maree Nairne, the New South Wales Rural Fire Service Cassilis Brigade, Cassilis Bowling Club and Cassilis Public School.
