Stock Report: June 16
By Stuart Sheldrake
THE market was very strong today with 416 cattle penned, a couple of hundred more than last week.
A good yarding of cows and a few pregnancy testing lines that made up to $3 a kilo.
Normal kill runs made up to $2.85 and best falls made up to $2.80.
A very good run of trade cattle, fully firm on last week’s market, possibly a shade better.
There was a good run of both weaners and yearlings and also a good run of feeded steers and heifers, all of those cattle were 5 to 10 dearer.
Throughout the day, everything was firm if not slightly better in places.
Overall, a very strong market this week.
