Youngest Soldier to Honour ANZAC’s
THE youngest soldier at this morning’s dawn service in Scone is set to address the main commemorative service later today.
Lieutenant Joseph Smith is a 22 year old from the school of infantry in Singleton, who joined the army when he was 17.
“I wanted to serve the country, protect Australia and our way of life,” said Lieutenant Smith.
“Today I will be talking about how we can take what the ANZAC’s did 102 years ago and use it in our everyday lives to enhance our society and unite our society,” he said.
“Their values of courage, mateship and respect is something we can honour daily,” he said.
