Yabbie Doo Good Night
THE Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre raised more than $10,000 at their annual fundraising night on Saturday.
The winner of the yabbie race was Pronto Puppy, named after sponsor Erin Williams from Beyond Dog Training.
Lee Watts, manager of the Centre said it was a great night.
“The people that were there, the number was smaller than last year because everyone is struggling and I understand that, so to raise $10,000 in four hours people were digging deep and it was just a fun night,” said Mr Watts.
“I’ve also had a few people come in yesterday with donations because they couldn’t be there and I’ve had my first pledge for next year,” she said.
“The money will go towards keeping the Centre open five days a week,” she said.
“So when people need chairs and tables they need to come to us, we hire a range of things and the money comes back to the community, they can hire movie screen, data projectors, lectern, a PA system, gazebos and inflatable games,” Lee Watts said.
