Woolworths Masks Up!
WOOLWORTHS employees will start wearing masks on Monday, after the Woolworths Group made the decision to encourage New South Wales shoppers to wear masks in stores, however it won’t be mandatory at this stage.
The SDA (Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees’ Association) union representing the retail employees, welcomed the decision.
Bernie Smith SDA New South Wales Secretary said the recommendation aims to protect the health and safety of retail workers, shoppers and the general community and should be adopted by other New South Wales retailers.
“It is also in line with recommendations from health authorities,” Mr Smith said.
“The bottom line is that shoppers in NSW should be wearing masks before stepping into stores,” he said.
“And remember that the frontline workers that you see when you walk into a shop are just out there trying to do the best job they can,” said Bernie Smith.
