What the Manure is Going On?
PILES of horse manure have been found throughout Scone this morning, puzzling early risers.
The droppings were reported this morning in Kelly Street and initially people speculated it could be someone sending a message to Council about their revitalisation plans. Read: Some Money for Revitalisation.
However, droppings were also discovered at local schools and Jared Teague from MacCallum Inglis found some confusing hoof prints when he opened their shed this morning.
“I couldn’t believe it at first, you can see these hoof prints circling around and then it looks like they’ve backed up to try and kick the door down,” said Mr Teague.
“I’ve never seen anything like it – I think they must have been after some of the feed,” Jared Teague said.
At St Mary’s Primary School students have started their own investigation into the manure after finding it was laced with glitter.
“There are some wide eyed kids around here at the moment, no-one is quite sure what’s going on,” said Principal Kim Wilson.
“Hoof prints everywhere, some of the kindy kids think unicorns came to visit after finding glitter in the manure left behind,” Ms Wilson said.
Wayne Bedggood, Mayor of the Upper Hunter Shire was quick to defend “Big Blue” saying he had remained under lock and key at the Visitor Information Centre.
“There’s been a lot of interest in our Blue Horse, so security measures are very tight and there’s no way he could’ve escaped,” said Mayor Bedggood.
“There’s talk from some of the older people around town about a legendary group of horses that used to run through the hills around here and we are investigating all leads,” he said.
“We think suggestions that the Colt from Old Regret, the Silver Brumby or Black Beauty have been to visit are somewhat wide of the mark however,” Wayne Bedggood said.
