Wheels for Westpac
MORE than 80 riders will hit the road tomorrow to support the Westpac Rescue Helicopter in the annual Alive and Well on Farms Ride for the Chopper.
The riders will begin at 11am tomorrow in Tamworth, are expected in Ellertson on Sunday via Nundle and on Monday will travel through Scone to Singleton, finishing in Kurri Kurri on Friday.
The 470 kilometre ride is now in it’s 18th year has raised more than $90,000 for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
Richard Jones, chef executive officer of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter said he can’t thank the riders, their families and the support crew enough for their unbelievable support.
“Pedalling 450km’s over 7 days is a huge commitment and we are so incredibly thankful for the support from everyone involved,” said Mr Jones.
“Now in its 18th year, the annual Alive and Well on farms Ride for the Chopper is one of our longest running and most successful fundraising events,” he said.
“More than $90,000 dollars has already been raised, with every dollar going towards ensuring that the Westpac Rescue Helicopter can continue flying 247 as a free service to those in need,” Richard Jones said.
