Wellbeing with Heart

APPROXIMATEY 60 visitors and exhibitors turned up for Rotary’s Health and Wellbeing Expo held on Saturday at the Murrurundi Bowling Club.
Address by Fiona Coote, the two-time early heart replacement years recipient, the event was at the cross-roads of information available for community’s aging to tone up.
From the local Men’s Shed to the VRA and the Upper Hunter Shire Council, visitors was handed information about medical and services available both locally and in the neighbourhood.
Ironically, it came at a time when the community is well served by two doctors and far removed from when Murrurundi was struggling to keep one on the job.
The visitors and stall-holders also enjoyed a free lunch unfortunately, the only downer was the dinner scheduled for the evening had to be cancelled for lack of interest.
Included in the 14 stalls was Cancer Council, NSW Ambulance, SES, Murrurundi VRA, Eye Care, Hearing Australia, Dental Care, Podiatry, Pathology, Murrurundi Men’s Shed, Family Drug Support and TransCare.
