THE Upper Hunter Shire Council is being forced to rethink its proposed $20,000 fee to connect to the Scone to Murrurundi pipeline.

After the majority of ratepayers rejected the proposal, Council suggested the construction of water filling stations in each village.

Further community consultation will occur in early 2021 when a new proposal is complete.
