Voting has begun for Council elections
PRE-POLL voting has opened in Scone today for the Upper Hunter Shire Council elections.
Pre-poll in Merriwa and Murrurundi will open next week and polling booths across the Shire will be available on election day, Saturday, December 4.
How to vote:
- To make a valid vote you need to vote for a minimum of five candidates, in order of your preference.
- You can then chose to preference further candidates, but you must at least number up to five.
- How to vote cards:
- How to vote cards will not be available at the polling booths, due to covid restrictions. Candidates can’t hand out materials within 100 metres from the booths.
- To get the how to vote for your favourite candidate you can:
- wait for postal materials to arrive before December 4;
- visit the candidate’s Facebook page or website, or
- check their posters at polling booths as some have their how to votes on their posters, which you can photograph and take into the booth with you.
