Veterans Golf: Mar 8

Len Stanley (43 points) did best from among the 24 Vets who played a stableford event yesterday at Scone Golf Course on a cloudy and then sunny morning.

Thank you to the many workers who keep the course up to scratch, to Ross Banks who processed our cards so promptly, to barman Michael and to the caterers for a good value lunch.

Second was George Smith 40 on a count-back from Reg Davidson 3rd and 4th Captain Max Holz 38.

In the ball comp balls went to Terry Mitchell 37, Red Palmer and Brian Dever 36, Bruce Robinson 35, Graham Turvey and Graham Guest 34 and Ross Banks, Rod Auld and Yvonne Robinson 33 celebrating International Women’s Day.

The Week of Golf will be held next week from Monday, March 14 to Friday, March 18.

Ninety players will contest each day. Could all members please provide a plate of goodies for Monday at 7.30 to go with the cuppas and now and again on the other mornings.

On Tuesday, March 15 we also play a stableford event at Denman for those not in the WoG, with hit-off from 8am.

On Tuesday, March 22 we play a stroke with putting event at Aberdeen with hit-off from 8am.
